Presidents Message
BY Paul Dow
Greetings
from hot Rhode Island where we have had the warmest summer in recorded
history. The summer in Florida is progressing, but not as fast as
we had
hoped.
The pilings are in. That completes the
waterfront project. The pool tables have been recovered and the
new stage curtain will be installed
as soon as the clubhouse repairs are finished.
The heated pool has
been resurfaced and repairs are coming along with the
clubhouse.
We are
trying to speed those up so that our Village activities can commence on
time in
September.
I think you will be pleased with the
repairs. They
should put our clubhouse in excellent shape for years to
come.
Hopefully
by the time you read this, all will be done. Time is growing
short up here
and plans for the annual pilgrimage south are starting to take
place.
I
hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful summer. We are
looking
forward to seeing all of you in the near future.
Regards

Well is it hot enough for you yet??? It sure
is hot enough for us in Florida but we hear that the rest of the
country is
having it just as hot if not hotter. Whew, welcome to summer!
The building repair project is moving along
very well. All of the doors and windows have been replaced,
half of the
siding has been replaced and they are now working on the showers and
the breezeway.
Ken Rite Construction
is doing a great job.
For all of you heated pool swimmers, its ready
to go! A beautiful sparkling pool awaits you this coming season.
And for those of you
who want to fit into that speedo or bikini you have tucked away in the
drawer,
Weight Watchers
is here!
VHL Activities (aka Recreation) has signed a
deal with Weight Watchers who will hold a meeting
every Saturday
morning in the Recreation hall at 9:00 am. Many owners are looking
forward to listening
to those culinary
words of wisdom to keep those pounds off. If you can’t make
the meeting,
you can also
follow the Weight Watchers online. Lori, who will be your leader, is a
spunky gal who
has kept off
her pounds for many years now. She’s an inspiration to us all.
Let’s talk about weeds. Now if you
remember, at the end of the season I strongly suggested you find
someone to pull your
weeds and keep your yard in order. Well, everyone that I sent a lovely
letter to had not
made any
arrangements for yard care. Remember, first letter lets you know
you have a weed problem and the second lets you know that if you
don’t take care of it we will do it for you – at a much
higher cost of course! So, if you get a letter, call a yard care vendor.
If you need names
and numbers just give us a call.
Now for those of you who are here at VHL, the
large pool will be closed as long as there
is construction
going on near the large pool. Florida Statutes says if work is
within 4 feet of the pool it
is to be closed and
it is indeed within 4 feet. So take a dip in our newly resurfaced
pool
and kick back. Before
you know it the work will be done and you’ll have your pick of
pools. Safety first!
